Chemlube’s technical expertise in all aspects of lubricant
production is well known in the countries of the Former Soviet
Union. When the Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex (TKNPZ) built
new units for base oil production and finished lubricant blending,
the refinery’s specialists selected Chemlube as the technical
support provider for production issues and the delivery of lubricant
additives for different applications and quality levels.
In 2002, Chemlube helped to organize the production of four
grades of base oils, which, according to the results of the tests
made by the technical service center of a major European additive
producer, correspond to the classifications API SN 180, SN 350,
SN 600 – Group II, SN 1200 – Group I base oil.
From 2002-2007, 35 grades of lubricants with different purposes
and performance levels were put onto production for applications
in motor oils, transmission, hydraulic, turbine, industrial and
Equipment requirements in Turkmenistan determine the performance
level of lubricant formulations required. Qualified tests of motor
oils are made in the independent testing centers of the Russian
Federation and in European test centers, and then confirmed by
supervised tests of the oils in the hot climate conditions of
Motor oils of higher performance levels – API SJ/CG-4,
ACEA A3/F3-98, MB229.1 and others for modern automobiles of American,
European and Asian producers are made with the involvement of
the high-performance additives produced by a major European additive
producer. Lower level motor oils with performance levels API SD/CB,
SF/CC and others with analogous CIS standards are made using additives
produced in Russia.
To organize transformer, hydraulic, and turbine oil production,
Chemlube has introduced additives and additive packages of world
leaders in the production of such oils.
Chemlube is working hard to assist the Turkmenbashi Oil Processing
Complex to equip its laboratory with the most modern methods of
physical and chemical analysis, test benches for effective evaluation
of lubricant quality, and training to assist laboratory and production
unit personnel in finding and optimizing the content of finished
Chemlube specialists together with TKNPZ management have
published a handbook "Lubricants Produced from Turkmen Oils"
TKNPZ specialists have demonstrated their appreciation for Chemlube’s
technical support by expressing interest in further cooperation
in the coming years.
Chemlube specialists actively participate in expert panels and
discussions of the projects for the modernization of oil refineries
in order to produce higher quality oils (group II+, III, and III+)
in Russia and other CIS countries. In Turkmenistan, Chemlube is
working on a project to modernize the production of base oils, group
III and III+ oils.
